Summary: The purpose of this study is to examine how well individuals know themselves. You will be asked to complete a few self-report questionnaires that ask you about yourself.
Estimated Time Required: One hour
Risks and Benefits: There are no known risks associated with participation in this study. You will not benefit from your participation in this study. However, your participation in this study may contribute to the understanding of individual differences in self-report questionnaires that have implications for selecting individuals for a number of opportunities.
Compensation: You will be given course credit as indicated by the Psychology Subject Pool for participation if you are taking Introduction to Psychology, or you will be entered into a raffle. Please note that alternative means of obtaining course credit are available to students who do not wish to volunteer as research participants (see your course instructor for details).
Confidentiality: Your privacy will be protected to the maximum extent allowable by law. Only the project team will have access to the password-protected data file with your contact information attached, and all data will be reported at the group level so that no one will be able to identify a particular person.
Release of Grades and ACT/SAT Scores: In order to get a better understanding of individual differences in thinking, we will also be linking high school and/or FIT grades and ACT/SAT scores to your responses in this study. By agreeing to participate in this study, you are authorizing the registrar to give the experimenters access to your grades and the Office of Admissions to allow access to your high school grades and ACT/SAT scores. This information will also be kept confidential to the maximum extent allowable by law (see section above), will not be released to any other research teams or individuals, and all reports on this project will involve aggregated data that do not allow personal identification.
